Some people build successful careers. Others build communities that continue to inspire long after they are gone.
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tina Mak, the founding president of the AREAA Vancouver Chapter. Through her leadership, she helped establish one of Canada’s strongest networks connecting real estate professionals with Asian communities while advancing the mission of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA). She believed that relationships, education, and cultural understanding could create opportunities that crossed borders, and she dedicated her career to making those connections possible.
I will always be grateful for Tina’s generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to bringing people together. She was an exceptional ambassador for Asian communities in Canada and a true bridge between East and West. Her legacy will continue to inspire professionals around the world who believe, as she did, that lasting success is built on trust, collaboration, and serving others. Thank you, Tina, for everything you gave to our profession and to our community. Rest in peace.
