Why Relationships Remain the Most Undervalued Business Asset

After more than 20 years in entrepreneurship, marketing, and commercial real estate, I’ve learned that the strongest opportunities rarely come from the largest network.

They come from trusted relationships built over time.

In an era dominated by social media, CRM systems, and digital connections, it is easy to focus on collecting contacts. Yet the most valuable business relationships are still built the same way they always have been: listening more than speaking, showing genuine curiosity, remembering details, following through on commitments, and helping others without expecting an immediate return.

The most successful professionals are often not those who know the most people. They are the ones who earn the greatest trust. Relationships built on authenticity can create opportunities, partnerships, referrals, and friendships that continue to generate value decades after the first introduction.
